About Lindsay Smith
Lindsay Austin Smith was a young loving mother, daughter, sister, granddaughter,
and a wonderful friend to many people around her hometown of Fair Grove. She
was attending nursing school and had great dreams of her future with her beautiful
family. She was the daughter of Todd and Tracy Smith and
sister to Loren and Josh. Active in FFA, showing cattle, rodeoing, and
hunting, she loved life and did her best to meet all of its challenges with
a positive attitude and a smile. She never met a stranger and was a friend to
many who were shy or in need.
Unfortunately on July 30th 2011—a few days short of her daughter's first birthday—while canoeing on the Gasconade, her life was cut short by a lightning strike.
In memory of Lindsay, and to show her daughter Faith what a giving person
she was, we are sponsoring this Memorial Rodeo. Funds from this rodeo will go
back into the community to help families in crisis. Whether they need a propane
bill paid, utilities, a coat, or clothing, we are here to give back and to pay
it forward.
